Clinical Psychologist,
Parenting Coach,
Public Speaker

Kids are amazing. And challenging. We all need a bit of support.

Adoring your kid doesn’t mean you adore every part of your kid, every minute of every day. Children can be as exasperating as they are lovable; parenting can be as isolating as it is inspiring.

The truth is, every child is different, as is every parent. “One size fits all” doesn’t apply to anything — parenting most of all. My job is to help you set aside the books, blogs, and unsolicited playground and coffee shop advice to figure out the parenting style and strategies that work best for your family.

THEIRS

Wondering why your child’s feelings and reactions are always so, so big? Or why your home feels like a battleground or sleep-deprivation study site? Or maybe you’re sounding like your own parents in ways you’d rather not, or puzzling how it came to be that you and your partner landed on such different pages when it comes to parenting.

YOURS

Stop agonizing over whether you’re doing it all “right.” There’s no such thing. I promise. Not when it comes to kids and families. There are only choices to make — with thought and intention — as you navigate your particular parenting journey. (The only universal is snacks. Never forget snacks.)

I have spent my career as a clinical psychologist focused on child behavior and family relationships. You, on the other hand, are the expert when it comes to your children and your family, your culture and your community. Together, we can figure this out.

The Doctor is In.

The Tantrum Survival Guide book cover

I am intimately familiar with the challenges parents face, both through my years of experience helping families from all walks of life and my first-hand adventures with my own two children. I’m frequently consulted as a “parenting expert” in the press, and even wrote a book that will help you tune in to your toddler’s mind (and your own) to calm the craziness and make family fun again. That’s literally the title.

The Doctor is Out and About.

I have two primary goals when I give talks and workshops, regardless of the audience or setting, whether virtual or in-person:

  • To provide practical tools and information in an accessible way that reflects science-based best practices.
  • To create an atmosphere that is free of judgment, characterized by warmth, authenticity, and a sense of community.

I’d love to hear from you, whether it’s to schedule a consultation or coaching session, book a talk, plan a workshop, or make any other inquiry about what I do.
